  • So Easy by Ellie Krieger is a beautiful cookbook filled with decadent photos of elegant foods–breakfasts, lunches, dinners and desserts. For me however, there is hardly anything I can eat! I am a Weight Watcher and when I calculated some of these meals, they came to 11 and 12 points. That’s half of my point allotment for the day! While these recipes look amazing, why would I make them? I cannot afford to use my points for one meal that isn’t going to be very filling. Maybe if you’re having guests over, you could try one of these as a special occasion. Other than that, as a dieter, this does not help me.

  • I try never to miss the author’s telecasts on Food Network and was really looking forward to her latest book. I am always looking for cookbooks that have easy recipes for meals that I can serve my family. I was disappointed in this book–too many unusual and stir-fry recipes. Maybe “healthy,” but certainly not “luscious.” I would not recommend it to people who like hearty food.

  • Diet or not all the recipes featured in this new cookbook by Ellie Krieger sound yummy! I can’t wait to give some a try as I have gone back to the diet. Diet or not, I plan to use this cookbook to eat healthier and all the recipes sound sooooooo good!

    Some of the recipes I can’t wait to try include:

    * Cheddar-Apple Quesadilla

    * Egg Muffin Sandwich

    * Curried Chicken Salad

    * Emerald Stir-Fry with Beef

    * Ham and Cheese Panini

    * Creamed Spinach

    Just thinking about these recipes makes me hungry. Well I’m off to the kitchen to try a few of these recipes.

    Before I forget: Included in the book is general dietary recommendations and according to Krieger there is no “off limits” food. Some are just eaten sparingly.

  • As a dietitian & nutritionist I am always interested to read about what colleagues are writing about and publishing. As with Ellie’s earlier cookbook, ‘The Food You Crave’, she does not disappoint. Although I have actually not gotten around to cooking anything from the book yet, the recipes certainly read beautifully – not too many ingredients, easy methods to follow and all the nutritional information nicely stacked on each page with a little intro about the recipe – not all recipes are photographed, but when you read a recipe and in your mind can ’see’ what it will look like and imagine what it will taste like, it must be good! Congratulations Ellie on producing another mouth-wateringly healthy addition to the recipe-book libraries of keen cooks.

  • I am a huge fan of Ellie’s and this book has solidified my admiration for her work! I have two young children and find that Ellie’s recipes provide a simple, healthy, and best of all, tasty meals for my entire family to enjoy. When I try a new recipe that everyone at the table eats my husband looks at me and says “this must be from Ellie”. This book has many new recipes for every meal and does a wonderful job of breaking them up into sections for quick meals and meals that take a little longer. This is a perfect tool for a busy mom!
