Roaccutane: Week 11

:) Forgot to mention that I’ve also started taking 1 multivitamin a day – called Zegavit. It’s a high-potency B-Complex with Zinc, Vitamin E and 750mg of Vitamin C. I mainly wanted to take it because I wanted Vit B to keep my hair healthy, but my dad thought I might as well take a multi-vitamin (without the Vit A of course)! Current skin care: Face: Acne Aid facial cleansing bar Garnier refreshing toner Clinique moisture surge Clinique all about eyes rich (only at night) Body: Baby oil (after shower) Cetaphil lotion (whenever I need it) Sun care: Neutrogena ultra-sheer body mist sunblock (SPF 30) w/ helioplex Still haven’t exfoliated – not planning to.

Ask the pros for makeup tips
To say there are more makeup options than ever is a colossal understatement. Thousands of new beauty products are introduced each year, giving rise to entirely new makeup categories that didn’t even exist a few years ago. With the lip plumpers and eyelash enhancers, the high-def and SPF foundations, and the air brush and all-natural applicators, the choices have become a bit mind-boggling.

Skincare Essentials Guide

The key to younger, brighter looking skin is in understanding your skin type. Follow our skincare essentials guide to your perfect complexion.

Normal skin

Individuals with normal skin can experience flaking and tightness of the skin, especially after sun or wind exposure. This can occur due to underactive sebum production. This condition is eased by using correctly tailored products, and also by drinking lots of water and food with vitamin A, and omega 3s (found in oily fish). We recommend Burt’s Bees Orange Cleanser and Korres Wild Rose 24 hour Moisturiser.

We also recommend:

Korres Wild Rose 24 hr Moisturiser SPF 6 Murad Energizing Pomegranate Cleanser Burt’s Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser Murad Lip Therapy SPF 15 Burt’s Bees Marshmallow Vanishing Cream Combination skin

Combination skin has a tendency for oily patches in the T-Zone (forehead, nose and chin) and balanced skin in other areas. To combat this, your products need to be effective at clearing oil but not over drying the other skin areas. We recommend Korres Orange Blossom Daily Emulsion to cleanse your skin daily, and Lierac Facial Serum to boost skin vitality. Treat breakouts with Ole Henriksen Roll on Blemish Attack.

We also recommend:

Like normal/dry but more severe, if you suffer from dehydrated skin it will feel dry and taut all day. This is eased by application of suitable moisturisers and cleansers that are mild and do not strip the skin (tip. If after cleansing your skin feels very tight and ‘squeaky clean’ the product is probably too harsh). Avoid toners containing alcohol, we recommend Trilogy hydrating Mist Toner, which provides instant moisture for thirsty skin.

We also recommend:

Oily skin occurs where there is excessive sebum production. This skin type may need more frequent cleansing than other skin types, and be prone to acne due to pores blocked by sebum. To treat breakouts, we recommend investing in a quality on the spot treatment such as Ole Henriksen Roll-on Blemish Attack. Murad Clarifying Cleanser is also great for daily cleansing.

We also recommend:

Sensitive skin is a complex skin type similar to other types, e.g. dry, oily etc, but is prone to be delicate and easily irritated. This can be exacerbated by extreme temperatures and other environmental factors, and by reactions to highly scented or chemically enhanced products. Use a mild cleanser such as Murad Soothing Gel, combined with a light moisturiser like Nuxe Ultra Comfortable Face Cream which are kind to your skin.

As skin ages, collagen and elastin, fibers that keep the skin firm, weaken. The skin looks loose and lax, becomes thinner, and loses fat, so that it looks less plump and smooth. We recommend products that combat the visible signs of ageing, such as Dr Lewinn’s Smoothing Complex Corrective Line Filler and Aromatherapy Associates Instant Skin Firming Serum designed to compliment your daily skincare routine.
